one of my best friends works in the ER
she works the night shift, so she sees a lot of weird stuff. she tells me stories about what happens to the patients, but something she told me recently kind of bothers me.
a girl came into the ER around 3 am. she was absolutely drunk out of her mind and had flipped her car. the paramedics in the ambulance said she couldn’t even tell them her name. she ended up being okay and the cops wrote her a citation.
a citation? for driving so drunk that you flipped you car? are you kidding me? when i asked my friend about this, she said drunk drivers who have been in a wreck (usually not involving another car) and end up in the ER rarely ever get arrested or charged with a dui. has anyone else heard of this?
